Occupational Health and Safety Careers
The Occupational Health and Safety program prepares students to work in various organizations in a workplace health and safety role. Graduates should find employment opportunities with government offices and agencies, insurance companies, healthcare organizations and businesses of all sizes.
The Occupational Health and Safety program at Herzing College is approved by the Board of Canadian Registered Safety Professionals. Upon completion of the program, graduates will be eligible to take a certification exam that leads to the Canadian Registered Safety Technician (CRST) Certification. In addition, graduates that accumulate four years of work experience in the industry will also be eligible to take the exam that leads to a Certified Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) Certification. Both certifications are widely recognized and sought after by many organizations hiring safety professionals across Canada.
Examples of possible job titles include Health and Safety Coordinator, Workplace Health and Safety Coordinator, Health Safety Advisor, Safety Officer, Safety Coordinator
