The Grief Recovery Method®: will give you the tools you need to heal your broken heart and feel complete again. This 8 Week interactive Personal Workshop will be a safe place to examine what you’ve been taught about loss, to explore your beliefs about grief, and will guide you in completing a set of actions that will enable you to move forward in your life with hope. Once equipped with these tools, you will be able to work through other losses that you may have experienced in your past.

Who is this workshop for?

The workshop is intended for anyone who is suffering from grief no matter what the cause. There are over 40 loss experiences including death, divorce, moving, pet loss, change in financial status and loss of trust. If you have experienced any of these losses, have a broken heart and want to feel better. This workshop is for you.

How do you know if you are experiencing symptoms of grief?

Although there are no stages or feelings that every single griever experiences, there are some common symptoms of grief. Do you relate to any of these?

  • Do you feel tired?
  • Do you feel emotionally drained?
  • Do you pretend to be happy?
  • Do you isolate?
  • Have your eating or sleeping patterns changed?
  • Do fond memories of your loved one turn painful?

If you answered yes to any of these you are probably experiencing unresolved grief.

Workshop Agenda:

  • Sessions deal with The Grief Recovery Method Principles, Concepts of Recovery, How Incomplete Loss Occurs, and Identifying Incomplete Losses.
  • There will be homework assignments.
  • Times may vary slightly based on number of participants. A program Itinerary will be forwarded with your confirmation. Check your confirmation carefully for any time variances.

Why does nothing else I have tried, worked for me?

Grief is the normal and natural reaction to loss. It’s not a pathological condition or a personality disorder, but society says there is something wrong with you if you aren’t happy all of the time. Most of the most common things people hear following a loss are not helpful including “we know how you feel” and “it just takes time.” No one can ever know exactly how you feel because no one had the relationship you had. Time alone does not heal heartache. Many people have broken hearts over deaths that happened over 20 years ago. It’s not necessarily time that heals, but what you do in that time.

 What is the solution?

The Grief Recovery Method® Personal Workshop will show you how to identify past losses, find out what’s incomplete, and teach you how to get complete with those losses, so you can go on to lead a complete and happy life.

 When can I start the healing process?

It is never too soon to heal your broken heart. Would you wait to get help if you broke your arm? Then why wait when you break your heart? It is in the time immediately following a loss that your memories of those relationships are the most vivid and accurate. Those memories help you discover what you need to get complete with the relationship.

 What is the purpose of the 8 Week Personal Grief Recovery Workshop?

To help you grieve and complete your relationship to the pain and unfinished business caused by death, divorce, or any significant emotional loss.

 It’s been years since my loss, but I still feel like I’m not fully participating in my life, is this normal?

Unresolved grief can take us “out of the moment,” sometimes causing us to become lost in conversations and thought about people who are no longer physically with us. (This is not limited to death. We are equally likely to be lost in a conversation with a former spouse, still living, who is not physically present). Assuming that our physical health is okay, unresolved grief also drains us of energy. It tends to close our hearts down. Since we’re incomplete with a prior loss we automatically protect ourselves by not loving again. We “hold back”
in order to protect our hearts, thereby dooming new relationships to fail. In addition, grievers tend to hide their true feelings for fear of being judged. Where isolation is the problem, participation is a major component of the solution. The Grief Recovery Method®: 8 Week Personal Workshop is the ultimate participation aimed at discovering and completing the unfinished emotional business that fuels isolation.

 What is the commitment?

This is not a "drop-in" style format group. You must commit to attending each week (with the exception of emergencies, etc.).

A minimum of 8 participants is required for the group to run.

Sessions 1 to 8: The total Tuition of $295.00 is due prior to the program start. All course materials are included in the cost of tuition.
