Logistics and Supply Chain Management

Logistics and Supply Chain Management Training

**This program is offered on campus and online through our Flex-Ed program format**

Supply chain management is the process of moving the right thing to the right place at the right time – and at the right cost.  To produce a product a plan needs to be put in place, from procurement, through manufacturing, to delivery.  The coordination of these processes is known as the “supply chain”, and is vital to an organization’s competitive advantage. An individual involved in supply chain management is responsible for managing the flow of products through the supply chain from start to finish.

Statistics Canada data indicates that the supply chain sector is expanding.  More than 700,000 people work in some aspect of supply chain management in Canada today. According to The Canadian Supply Chain Sector Council Human Resources Update Study, “from 2012-2017, it is anticipated that there will be an additional 65,979 new and vacant supply chain positions per year for the next five years, equaling a total of 356,747 positions.”

This program, in partnership with the Supply Chain Management Association of Manitoba, examines each stage of the supply chain and prepares students with the knowledge and practical skills required for entry-level positions in supply chain management. Areas of study include logistics, marketing, operations, procurement, transportation, negotiation skills and business planning.  Completion of this course prepares you for accreditation under the Supply Chain and Management Professional Designation Program (SCMP). Being internationally recognized it is Canada’s most sought after and widely held designation in supply chain management.

Program length: 12 months (20 hours/week) includes 6 week internship

Flex-Ed Program Format

At Herzing College we realize that while some students prefer to attend regular classes at our campus, there are other students who prefer to work in an online learning environment to best accommodate their schedules.  It was from this that we developed our Flex-Ed (flexible education) concept.  Education, your way.  Typically you work your schedule around school, but what if school could work around you?

Our Flex-Ed program format offers the best of both worlds.  A convenient online learning environment with the option to work at the campus and receive support from your instructor. Students can choose to work completely or partially online and come to the campus during set hours each day to meet with their instructor and use our facilities.
