*This program is offered at our Winnipeg campus and full and part-time online in the Flex-Ed program format.

Office Assistants are responsible for routine clerical duties that are necessary to an organization’s operation. They may greet visitors, schedule appointments and answer the phone. They serve as communication managers for an office; organize and maintain files (electronic and hard copy), manage projects, conduct research, and distribute information through phone, mail and email.

This program provides instruction in business application software along with business office practices and operations. Areas of study include computer software (word processing, spreadsheets, database and information management), communication skills and office methods and procedures.

Program Length Full Time Winnipeg Campus: 6 months (20 hours/week, M-TH) includes 4 week internship
Program Length Full Time Online: 6 months (20 hours/week) includes 4 week internship
Program Length Part Time Online: 12 months (10 hours/week) includes 4 week internship

Our Flex-Ed program format offers the best of both worlds.  A convenient online learning environment with the option to work at the campus and receive support from your instructor. Students can choose to work completely or partially online and come to the campus during set hours each day to meet with their instructor and use our facilities.

Office Assistant Online Careers

The Office Assistant program provides students with the necessary computer skills and knowledge of office procedures for entry-level positions in any business office environment such as; government offices and agencies, insurance companies and various other types of offices.

Examples of possible job titles: Administrative Assistant, Office Assistant, Receptionist/Assistant, Office Administrator
