Individuals in an Accounting and Payroll department are typically responsible for preparing and processing bills, invoices, accounts payable and receivables, budgets and other financial records.

The Accounting & Payroll program provides students with hands-on training in bookkeeping, database management, and accounting software used by Canadian employers. Areas of study include accounting principles and practices, computerized accounting, managerial accounting, payroll administration, spreadsheets and data management.

Program length: 8 months (20 hours/week, M-TH) includes 4 week internship

The Accounting and Payroll Administrator program prepares graduates for a career in bookkeeping and accounting, including maintaining a full set of books, cash flow, budgeting, and implementing the most efficient accounting solutions for your employer or your own business.

Examples of job titles: Accounting Clerk, Bookkeeper, AP Administrator, AP/AR Clerk, Payroll Clerk, Accounting Technician.

Examples of employers: A&S Homes, SI Alarms, The Boyd Group, Loblaw Companies Limited, Winnipeg Regional Health Authority and Dufrense Group.

Sample Range of Starting Salaries: $24,960 - $34,986
