The Human Resources for Professionals online certificate program will assist students in further understanding the role of first line management, the role of a job description, and the role of compensation and benefits in the recruitment and selection process. Recruitment and selection are viewed from both the line manager and the Human Resource personnel perspective. The program introduces the conflict management techniques needed to handle difficult conversations and to provide effective performance management.

Instructor Led vs. Instructor Supported Format

This certificate program offers two convenient online delivery options to best accommodate busy schedules.

Instructor Led
(Condensed Course) – 12 Weeks
Instructor led courses follow a class schedule with a dedicated Instructor and classmates. The Instructor posts weekly discussions and hosts live online sessions where students can discuss assignments, industry topics etc. with their peers. The live sessions are recorded and archived for reference. The Instructor led option has a heavier workload upfront but offers increased engagement, opportunity for discussion and encourage students to complete the course within a shorter time frame. Tuition for the certificate must be paid in full within the twelve week time period. Students can enter into an Instructor Led program at set start dates on approximately a monthly basis.

Instructor Supported
(Extended Course) – 12 weeks to 6 months
Instructor supported courses come with the support of a dedicated Instructor but do not follow a set class schedule. Students work at their own pace to complete the course within a six month time period. The Instructor has pre-recorded lectures that are available for students to review. Students can call into weekly live sessions with the Instructor Led student sessions but the topics may not align with where they currently are in their coursework. The Instructor supported option offers students continued support from a dedicated instructor with the flexibility to complete the certificate over a longer period of time. Tuition for the certificate must be paid in full within the first twelve weeks. Students can enter into an Instructor Supported program at the beginning of each week.
