About Online Learning
Kompass offers online professional development courses through an online learning management system called Moodle. Moodle serves educators and learners all across the world and is recognized as the most widely used learning management system, with over 68 million users world-wide.
Our online learning management site hosts articles, videos, assignments and group discussions.
Instructors may use conference call tool such as Go-to-meeting and video call software such as Zoom or Microsoft Teams to facilitate engagement, role-plays and encourage discussion.
Dedicated Instructors
All of our Kompass online professional development courses have dedicated online Instructors with years of industry experience who are available to answer your specific questions and provide personalized attention through email, phone calls and live sessions.
Instructors may regularly offer live lecture sessions through phone or video where you have the opportunity to interact with them and other classmates to ask questions and discuss assignments and relevant industry information.
Instructor Led vs. Instructor Supported Formats
Our online programs are offered in two convenient online learning formats to best accommodate busy schedules. Check each program page to see available formats.
Instructor Led
(Synchronous Components)
Instructor Led courses follow a set class schedule with a dedicated Instructor and classmates. The Instructor posts in the discussion forum and hosts live online lectures (via conference and/or video call). Students can use those opportunities to discuss assignments, industry topics etc. with their Instructor and peers.
The Instructor Led format offers increased engagement, opportunity for discussion and requires students to complete assignments and participate in live lectures typically on a weekly basis.
Note: Some Instructor Led courses require mandatory participation in weekly role-play scenarios.
Instructor Supported
(Asynchronous)
Instructor Supported courses come with the support of a dedicated Instructor but do not follow a set class schedule. Students work at their own pace to complete the course within a set time period. The Instructor may offer pre-recorded lectures that are available for students to review.
The Instructor Supported format offers students continued support from a dedicated Instructor with the flexibility to complete the certificate over a longer period of time.
