Accounting and Payroll Administrator

Both the program and the internship made me realize the path I needed to take to get a career which I enjoyed. For years I wandered aimlessly, searching for the “perfect job”. The program showed me that I didn’t need a job, I needed a career. During the internship I realized that this is the career path for me. I was terrified when I went to the first class orientation and was seriously considering not coming back for the second day. I did and I am grateful that I did. Without the knowledge and training I received at Herzing, I would be working at another dead-end job somewhere and not be looking forward to a bright future and a promising career.

I feel that the course I have undertaken at Herzing provided me with the focus I needed to achieve a place in the workforce. Coming from a university program with a diverse area of study, I felt I needed a program that could be the fine focus, a program that could provide a real world application for what I have learned. This has been accomplished and Herzing College has prepared me for my future in that aspect. The support in achieving meaningful employment offered by the college was an added bonus, in that the internship program opened doors for me in the business community. It provides the bridge from the classroom into offices of the corporate world in which my future career objectives can be met. The program covers the necessary information, and looking back at it, while keeping my internship in mind, I feel that I was prepared for the workforce and even if I did not know everything at Investors Group, I had the confidence that I could learn.

My academic program at Herzing College has prepared me for my future by providing me with the education and skills needed to begin a career in accounting. My internship has prepared me for my future by giving me the opportunity to work in the accounting department of a company and gain knowledge and experience of the real world. Being on internship has also provided me with the chance to see if accounting is really the career I want to pursue for my future.

I feel I have up-to-date training and skills. I have a strong working knowledge of accounting and related procedures. I have become more confident with taking on new challenges and facing different challenging situations. I also feel motivated as a result of being more employable. I feel better prepared in areas where professionalism is a requirement.
