On-the-Job Training the Right Prescription for Success

Various Ottawa-area businesses serve as placement sites for Herzing College interns. Organizations such as Queensway Carlton Hospital team up with Herzing to provide valuable work experiences and appropriate work settings for students to put their skills into practice.

“Queensway Carlton Hospital’s Health Records department is pleased to have worked with Herzing College Medical Office Administrator students,” said Marilyn Sgarbossa, manager, Health Records and Transcription.

“We are happy to be able to give the students an opportunity to try out the work world, but in reality, the hospital benefits from their hard work. The four-week placement gives us an opportunity to get to know the students and in some instances, go on to hire them when positions open up. It is a win-win for the hospital and the students.”

Herzing College has been a pioneer post-secondary training institution for several decades in the National Capital Ottawa region. Herzing College is a community-friendly organization that prepares graduates to meet the local job market requirements.
